TTC @ “Русистика и Современность” - October 7-9, 2010 in Riga, Latvia

One of the main TTC objectives, among others, is leveraging machine translation tools by generating bilingual terminologies automatically from comparable corpora in several European Union languages: English, French, German, Latvian as well as in Chinese and Russian. A paper about the Latvian-Russian rule-based machine translation system which can be used for supporting social communication (Tatiana Gornostay, TILDE) was accepted to the 13th International Conference “Русистика и Современность” (Russian Philology in Modern Times) to be held on October 7-9, 2010 in Riga, Latvia. The problem of a rule-based machine translation system adaptation to a certain domain with terminology extracted from a specialized text – one of the key issues of TTC – is touched upon in the paper. Another paper on the same issue was presented at the 4th Internaltional Conference “Modern Tasks of Linguistics, Language Teaching and Intercultural Communications” held on December 3-4, 2010 in Uljanovsk State Technical University, Uljanovsk, Russia.
