The 6th TTC Consortium Meeting is being held in l'Auberge La Fontaine aux Bretons (Pornic), an old farm building built between the land and the sea keeping the most beautiful and authentic parts of Brittany.
The time has come to discuss reference terminology lists in the domains of wind energy and mobile communications for TTC evaluation scenarios. What is a term? What is a term variant? What is a terminological collocation? These are the main questions raised this time, e.g. wind energy and wind energy production – are these two terms or the second unit is a collocation of the first one? Renewable energy, alternative energy, and green energy – are these three base terms or synonymic variants? UN, IMS and Syllabs are presenting tools for monolingual term candidate extraction from comparable corpora.
The second workshop is on TTC usage scenarios – computer-assisted and machine translation. Sogitec and Tilde are going to present their methodology and plans for CAT in the domains of aeronautics and IT localization.
